I’m so excited to share a wonderful update on the fundraiser to send bilingual children’s books to Mexico.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of so many people, we have already reached 50% of our £400 goal. I’m truly grateful to everyone who has supported the campaign so far — whether by donating, sharing the page, or simply sending words of encouragement.
This fundraiser began after being inspired by a wonderful volunteer, Sadie, who previously took some of my bilingual books with her while volunteering in Guadalajara, Mexico. Knowing that those books were being shared with children and families during treatment made me realise how much more we could do together.
Our goal is to raise enough to print and deliver 100 bilingual books, which will be donated to children receiving treatment in hospitals in Guadalajara, as well as to the The Juan José Arreola Public Library, where they can be enjoyed by children and families in the wider community.
Books can provide comfort, distraction, and moments of connection, especially in environments that can feel overwhelming for children. The idea that these stories will travel across borders and be shared with young readers in Mexico is incredibly special.
Seeing this campaign already halfway funded has been so encouraging. It really shows how much people believe in the power of books and in helping children through small acts of kindness.
If you’ve already donated, thank you so much. Your support truly means a lot.
If you’re able to, please continue sharing the fundraiser with friends, family, or anyone who might like to help. Every contribution brings us one step closer to reaching our goal and getting these books into the hands of the children who will enjoy them.
I’m really excited to see this come together, and I’m so grateful to be doing this with such a supportive community.
Let’s get the rest of the way there!
