I’m so excited to finally share some big news — my books are now available in Mandarin Chinese!
This feels like such a meaningful moment, especially because of how this whole journey began.
Where It All Started: Cantonese
This project originally started with Cantonese. When I began, I quickly realised there weren’t many children’s books available, particularly ones written in colloquial Cantonese. That mattered to me a lot. I made a very deliberate decision to write in a way that felt natural and familiar, with the aim of making the stories as accessible as possible for families where Cantonese isn't our first language.
It wasn’t an easy path. There weren’t many resources to lean on, and there wasn’t a clear blueprint to follow. I learned a huge amount along the way and like any creative journey, it definitely came with a few lessons. But every step helped shape the books into what they are today and deepened my understanding of language, culture, and storytelling.
A New Chapter: Mandarin Chinese 🇨🇳
All of that experience has led to this next chapter: seeing my books translated into Mandarin Chinese.
Knowing these stories can now reach even more readers, families, and classrooms around the world honestly means so much to me. Stories have a special way of connecting us across languages and cultures, and I’m incredibly proud to see these characters find new voices.
